RemoSync Security Features
SSL Data Encryption – During the
account setup, user needs to select SSL when Microsoft
Exchange Server supports SSL.
Security PIN - Security PIN helps
to prevent the unauthorized access to the application. During
initial setup RemoSync directs to create a 4-Digit security
PIN. The PIN length and type (Numeric / Alpha Numeric) can be
defined or changed using the mobile policy settings set by IT
administrator at Exchange Server. RemoSync retrieves the
mobile policy settings on every login attempt with the
exchange server. The PIN can be entered Every time, Daily, or
based on Inactive Duration set by IT Administrator.
Remote and Local Data Wipe –
RemoSync supports the remote data wipe feature as defined by
exchange server. Using Exchange 2007 server, data wipe can be
enabled by employees at any time using the Outlook web
access. When RemoSync connects to the exchange server next
time, reads the mobile policy settings and then deletes all
data files specific to RemoSync application and the contacts
stored in the phone addressbook.
Local data wipe can be enabled using the
security PIN failed attempts. IT Administrator defined the
mobile policy settings by enabling the data wipe after n
number of unsuccessful PIN entries. When user fails to enter
the correct PIN and reaches the allowed limit of unsuccessful
attempts, RemoSync launches the data wipe to clear all the
data files and the contacts stored in the native address book.
Password Recovery - As per the
mobile policy settings, RemoSync allows the user to reset the
security PIN if forgotten. The password recovery is
automatically enabled when the user reaches 50% of allowable
unsuccessful login attempts. To reset the security PIN, the
user must enter the exchange server password. Once the
exchange server password is validated, RemoSync allows the
user to choose different security PIN.
Inactivity Time Out – RemoSync
exits the application and forces the user to enter the
security PIN when the Inactive Period exceeds the time limit
set by IT administrator.
