How do I get my calendar into iDatebook?
Our application includes a synchronization software client
that you download onto your PC from our web site during registration.
This enables you to initially add all of your calendar from
your PIM (Personal Information Manager) system, such as Microsoft
Outlook or a Palm handheld.
Your calendar is loaded directly your iDatebook Web Account—you
won’t have to manually enter anything. Then, whenever you
add or change information in the PIM, simply click on the
synchronization icon on your desktop to automatically sync
to iDatebook. The updated information will be available from
your mobile phone.
To get the
synchronization software, go to http://www.remoba.com/index.html
to register. You'll receive the necessary software to synchronize
between iDatebook and Microsoft Outlook or Palm. Instructions
are available to assist you in installing the synchronization
software.

How much does iDatebook Cost?
Our applications are offered to you through your wireless
carrier for a monthly subscription fee. Each carrier has their
unique pricing but it is typically around $2.99/month for
iDatebook. This subscription will appear on your normal monthly
statement from your wireless carrier.

Does my computer need to be on for me to access my calendar?
No, you do not need to keep your computer turned on.

4.
How does the refresh icon work?
Versions 2.0 and above have a fresh icon in the submenu area.
iDatebook automatically caches (stores) six weeks of calendar
content so that you do not have to access the wireless network
when using iDatebook for recent appointments.
The six weeks
of content include the full current month and the last week
of the previous month plus one week of the next month. However,
if you edit your calendar in Microsoft Outlook or Palm, you
will need to use the refresh icon to refresh the six week
cache.

5.
How do text message alerts work?
iDatebook can be set up to send you a text message alert to
remind you of an upcoming appointment. If you wish to enable
text message alerts, login to your Web Account. Choose the
Options tab. Scroll to the calendar section. Check the “Yes”
box and choose your wireless carrier from the drop down menu.
Here’s how it works.
Using your
desktop PIM such as Outlook: If you have your default alarm
setting turned on, any appointment made in Outlook (or on
the mobile phone and then synced to Outlook) will trigger
a text message alert on your mobile phone. If you do not have
your default alarm setting turned on, you may assign an alert
manually in Microsoft Outlook—this cannot be manually done
on the mobile phone.
Using your
Web Account: Add or edit an event. Assign an alarm to be set.
When your event approaches (depending on whether your alarm
setting is 15 minutes, 1 hour etc.), a text message will be
sent to your mobile phone. The text message will include the
time and title of the event. You may wish to use your handset
features to enable the phone to signal you with an audio tone
when text messages are received. The text message resides
outside of the iDatebook application.
Note: Remoba does not charge additional fees for enabling
text message alerts. However, your wireless carrier may charge
additional fees for the receipt of a text message alert. You
should check with your wireless carrier for more information
on their text message fees.

I have iPhonebook already, do I need to do anything else to
use iDatebook?
Many of our subscribers use both iPhonebook and iDatebook
together. If you are already using iPhonebook, there are just
a couple of things to do. You do not need to register again
or download the sync software. Both iPhonebook and iDatebook
use the same sync software.
You should make sure that the sync software is setup to sync
calendar information. Open the sync software by right clicking
on the desktop icon and choosing Open. Click on the Setup
Wizard button. Click next to move through the menu options
until you come to the one asking whether to sync contacts,
calendar or both. Make sure the radial button next to both
contacts and calendar is marked.
If you haven't
already done so, you will need to download the iDatebook application
to your mobile phone. The same PIN you use for iPhonebook
can be used to login to iDatebook for the first time.

I had iDatebook before and just switched phones. Why is the
screen telling me to register for a new web account again?
I already did this.
This is a standard
introduction message for the application. If you already had
iDatebook, all you need to do is hit "ok" to ignore this introduction
screen.
Then, choose
"login" and key in your 10 digit Mobile number. Hit Ok. Now,
key in your 4 digit PIN and hit OK. You should now be connected
to your existing iDatebook/iPhonebook web account with your
new phone.
If you don't
remember what your PIN was, go to http://www.remoba.com/index.html
and log into your web account.
Click on the
"account" tab and type in a new 4 digit PIN. Save the changes.
Go back to the phone application and key in the new PIN. If
you forgot your web password, click
here.

I am unable to sync draft folder's calendar event(s) of the lotus notes client from the desktop sync client.
Typically, Desktop sync client picks up scheduled event(s) and uploads the same to the server.
If the draft folder has recursive events, the Desktop sync client will not pick it up.
